About:

RoboFold is changing – we started out developing a robotic metal forming technology – and ended up creating some amazing robotics simulation software under the brand Robots.IO. The biggest change is that Robots.IO is now taking the lead, offering RoboFold as just one of the technologies that their robot software enables.

Robots.IO operates as a consultancy, using our own software to build robust industrial solutions for a broad range of clients, in manufacturing, medical, entertainment, architecture and design. We also offer our software to let anyone create their own solutions.

Mission:

We aim to provide world-class industrial robot simulation at an affordable cost, through our range of plugins for the combined Rhino and Grasshopper platform. The software we produce is designed to be easy to operate and to work seamlessly with hardware. We are constantly improving our services to find innovative solutions for our clients’ processes, and compelling content to support them in their own creations.

Job Description:

Robots.IO is engaged in robotic R&D for various companies. As a software expert, you will bring your experience in connecting Grasshopper with multiple software and hardware platforms/processes to the projects we undertake.

The main objectives of the role are:

  1. Developing advanced robotic fabrication processes that combine novel input data with multi-process outputs.
  2. Realise complex process in practical software representations.
  3. Transfer simulations in to working processes with off-the-shelf hardware, and prove their viability through rigorous testing.

You will work directly with our Lead Developer and project team to compliment their skills, and alongside a multi-cultural team of enthusiastic developers, designers and fabricators across both creative and industrial sectors.

We are looking for candidates with evidence of exceptionally creative approach to solving technical problems.

Successful applicants will demonstrate understanding and experience of the CAD software realm, fabrication technologies and the methods to communicate the output of these technologies.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS

  • Robotics simulation experience, preferably in Grasshopper
  • Robotics applications, including experimental processes
  • Experienced in fabrication, including equipment use and design for manufacturing.
  • Experienced CAD user, primarily a Rhino user, but at home in multiple platforms.
  • Experienced with electronic systems, including Arduino.
  • Experience with programming, and ability to learn new programming languages.
  • Advanced Grasshopper user, including multiple plugins such as Kangaroo, Firefly etc
  • Excellent communication and organisation skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a close-knit team
  • Able to work independently with a minimum of supervision to tight deadlines
  • Ability to deliver presentations
  • Comfortable with global to travel
